slopmop
Free Chrome extension that folds low-quality LinkedIn posts by asking Jev twelve questions about the writing, not who wrote it.
Overview
Slop Mop is a free, MIT-licensed browser extension for LinkedIn, framed as a bad-writing detector rather than an AI detector. It reads posts before they reach you and either folds suspected slop into a strip or outlines it with reasons; you can open any post, inspect its score and spider chart of signs, or overrule it by voting No, Maybe or Probably. It never deletes, reports, mutes or blocks anything.
For each post, a Vercel server asks Jev twelve questions in parallel: nine signs of slop drawn from published research on AI writing tells (contrast definitions, empty evaluative words, hype vocabulary, manufactured stories with tidy lessons, engagement bait), two counter-signs (does it sound like one particular person, is it useful to a reader), and one on how likely a model drafted it, which can only soften the score for human-sounding text. Only post text and engagement counts are sent, not author names, and post text is stored only as a hash. The free server allows 250 checks per install per day, and the README notes thresholds were fitted on just 27 hand votes. An admin console tracks what Jev sees and where votes disagree.
