slop-filter
Chrome and Firefox extension that hides AI-written posts on X, LinkedIn, Reddit and YouTube by asking Jev 30 narrow style questions.
Overview
slop-filter is a browser extension that scores every post in your feed on X, LinkedIn and Reddit, plus YouTube comments and videos (judged by script, not title or thumbnail), for how likely it is to be AI-written, and collapses those over your threshold. An animated mode shows a scan line then green or red folding. You can label posts AI or Human and fit the weights to your judgment, and after three flagged posts from one account it offers to block it.
For each post it asks Jev 30 narrow questions about how the text is written rather than what it says. Human tells come first (an invented word, a joke, a stretched or repeated word, a typo), and a confident one settles it as human; then AI tells such as the 'it's not X, it's Y' pivot, three matching beats, a tidy ending, importance words with no information, and overly even rhythm. Plain code counts em dashes, colon and semicolon habits and stock vocabulary. Answers are combined with fitted weights; posts under five words are skipped. You can use your own TypeSafe key (about 4 cents per 1,000 posts), an OpenRouter key, or a paid hosted option.

How it works
- Read each post's text as it nears the screen
- Ask Jev 30 style questions and count mechanical tells in code
- Combine into one weighted score; human tells can settle early
- Collapse posts over the threshold; offer to block repeat accounts
Strengths
- About 4 cents per 1,000 posts with your own key
- Weights fitted to your own labels
- Judges writing style, not topic
Caveats
- Probabilistic; human writing can be flagged
- Post text goes to the chosen provider
