jev-slop-guard

Chrome extension that asks Jev slop or not_slop for each X and LinkedIn post and blurs posts above your threshold.

Browser extensionbetaMIT

Overview

Jev Slop Guard is a Manifest V3 Chrome extension that stands between you and low-effort AI-generated posts on X and LinkedIn. As posts scroll into view, each one is sent to Jev as a single typed Choice between slop and not_slop. Every post gets a pill showing its slop probability; posts at or above the user-set threshold (default 70%) are blurred and stamped SLOP, with a Show the post button that clears it for the session.

It is for people who want a quieter feed without a free-form LLM writing commentary. Classification runs in the background with a small concurrency cap and a per-post cache, so scrolling is never blocked and each post is scored once. Promoted posts and Who to follow widgets are skipped. Users bring their own key from TypeSafe (default) or OpenRouter, settings stay in chrome.storage.local, and the model can be left on jev-latest or pinned to jev-1.13.0.

What the decision model decides

ChoiceIs this post slop or not slop?slop · not_slop

How it works

  1. Post scrolls into view on X or LinkedIn
  2. Post text sent to Jev as one Choice (max three concurrent requests, cached per post)
  3. Pill shows slop probability
  4. At or above threshold (default 0.7): blur and stamp SLOP with a show override

Strengths

  • Never blocks scrolling; background classification with a per-post cache
  • Typed probability rather than generated text
  • Settings and key stay local; only the classification request leaves the browser
  • Threshold is user-adjustable

Caveats

  • Every post is billed to your own TypeSafe or OpenRouter account
  • OpenRouter requires allowing TypeSafe in privacy settings
  • Slop judgment is subjective and uncalibrated for this task

Getting started

Load the chrome-mv3/ folder unpacked in chrome://extensions with Developer mode on, then paste a TypeSafe or OpenRouter key in the popup.

How curated lists describe it

  • Social feed filtering: bring-your-own-key Chrome extension that asks Jev one `Choice` (`slop` / `not_slop`) per X and LinkedIn post as it scrolls into view, blurring and stamping anything at or above a user-set threshold (default 0.7) behind a "Show the post" override, with a three-request concurrency cap and one cached verdict per post so scrolling never blocks.

A single Choice between slop and not_slop, returned as a probability.

Will it slow down my feed?

Who pays for the calls?
