jevball
3D football match where each of 22 players is an independent Jev Choice over locally computed options, batched into one request per tick.
Overview
JevBall is a football match in a 3D stadium in which each of the 22 players is an independent decision-maker powered by Jev. Geometry, physics and candidate generation stay local; Jev only picks among typed, pre-computed candidates and returns probabilities. A few times per second each player gets up to 14 realistic options such as shoot, pass to a teammate, through ball, dribble forward, press, mark an opponent, run behind or goalkeeper rush, each with a short label and numeric features like distance, lane clearance, receiver space, success estimate, expected goals, arrival time versus the nearest opponent and offside margin.
All players due a decision are batched into one systemone request per tick: the match state is sent once, followed by one Choice question per player (up to 10 per batch, at most two requests in flight). The ball carrier decides every 0.30 s of match time, nearby players every 0.55 s and others every 1.2 s. Reflexes such as receiving passes and keeper saves stay local. A local endpoint validates candidate tables and keeps the key server-side. You can watch, open any player's head to see the options it weighed, or take over the number 9 yourself.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which of this player's candidate actions should they take now? | shoot · pass · through · dribble_fwd · press · mark · run_behind · gk_rush |
How it works
- Simulation computes up to 14 candidates with features per player
- Batch due players into one request with shared match state
- Jev returns a Choice per player
- Chosen intent executed; reflexes handled locally
Strengths
- Shared state sent once per batch
- Inspectable per-player option weighting
- Human can take over a player
Caveats
- Request volume scales with match speed
- Demo, not a tactics benchmark

Use cases and integrations
How curated lists describe it
22 Jev models, one ball: a 3D football match where every player is its own Jev (TypeSafe AI System One) decision. Watch, or take over the number 9.
