jev-grand-prix
F1 racing game where Jev picks racing line and pedals several times a second and learns corner limits between laps.
Overview
Jev Grand Prix is a browser racing game where Jev drives an F1 car live and you can race it. Several times a second the game sends the Jev car's telemetry to a Python server, which turns the numbers into the words a race engineer would use, such as speed, position on track and phase of a corner, and asks three questions in one request: where across the track to aim (far left to far right), which pedal (full throttle to hard brake), and whether the car is about to leave the track.
Jev decides the racing line and when to brake or accelerate; code does what a driver's hands and the car's electronics do. Per the list summary, it also learns each corner's limit between laps, and the default eight laps let you watch a race-engineer layer find the limit of every corner. A film mode helps record vertical clips. It needs uv and a TypeSafe key.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Where across the track should the car aim? | far left · left · centre · right · far right |
| Choice | Which pedal? | full throttle · part throttle · coast · brake · hard brake |
| Yes / no | Is the car about to leave the track? | — |
How it works
- Browser simulates car physics at 120 Hz
- Server converts telemetry to race-engineer phrasing
- Jev answers line, pedal and trouble questions in one request
- Code steers and applies pedals; corner limits adjust between laps
Strengths
- Numbers converted to words Jev handles well
- You can race against it
- Visible 'trouble' meter
Caveats
- Game demo
- Requires early-access Jev key
Getting started
`git clone https://github.com/enoyola/jev-grand-prix.git && cd jev-grand-prix`, put TYPESAFE_API_KEY in .env, `uv run server.py`, open http://localhost:8765.At a glance

How curated lists describe it
An F1 racing game where TypeSafe's Jev picks the racing line and the pedals, and learns each corner's limit between laps.

Frequently asked questions
What does Jev decide?
The racing line, the pedal input and whether the car is in trouble.
Why convert numbers to words?
The server phrases telemetry the way a race engineer would before asking Jev.
Can I race it?
Yes, tick Race Jev yourself and drive with the arrow keys.
