Overview

Jev Arcade's duel mode is a hosted, Krunker-style one-versus-one first-person shooter in the browser. According to the hellogumbo list, Jev controls a fighter by deciding movement, aim, aiming down sights, firing and jumping at roughly 9 Hz.

It is a demonstration of using a decision model as a real-time controller: each tick the game state is summarised and Jev returns typed choices for each control. No README or source was available, so the exact questions, latency handling and whether decisions are batched or pipelined are not documented.

How it works

  1. Game summarises state each tick
  2. Jev returns move, aim, ADS, fire and jump decisions
  3. Game applies controls at about 9 Hz

Strengths

  • Shows decision models driving real-time control

Caveats

  • Hosted demo only; no source or documentation
  • Network latency limits reaction speed
