JevApi

.NET 10 tooling for Jev: an AOT-safe typed client with retries and DI, plus a stdio MCP server with evaluate and batch tools.

Projectbeta

Overview

JevApi provides .NET tooling for TypeSafe's Jev targeting .NET 10, with source-generated JSON for trimming and native AOT. TypeSafe.Client is a typed client for POST /v1/systemone with NoulAnswer, ChoiceAnswer and ScoreAnswer models, a fluent request builder and convenience methods (AskAsync, ChooseAsync, RateAsync, EvaluateAsync), automatic retries with exponential backoff on 429 and 529 responses that honour Retry-After, a structured exception type with helpers, and dependency-injection registration.

JevMcp is a stdio MCP server built on MCPSharp that exposes Jev to LLM agents with tools designed for agent use: evaluate judges one item with 1 to 20 atomic typed questions in a single call, evaluate_batch runs the same questions over up to 50 items for triage, validate_questions dry-runs phrasing checks (atomicity, required fields, duplicates) without an upstream call, and examples returns canonical call patterns. Results keep raw probabilities and confidence rather than reducing them to booleans, and include request ids, latency, token usage and truncation warnings.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers
OtherCaller-defined Noul, Choice and Score questions via the client or MCP tools—

How it works

  1. Register TypeSafe.Client via DI or run JevMcp
  2. Build typed questions and send one evaluate call
  3. Retries handle rate limits and overloads
  4. Read raw probabilities, confidence and usage

Strengths

  • AOT and trimming friendly
  • Agent-oriented MCP tools including free question validation
  • Retry and error helpers

Caveats

  • Requires .NET 10
  • Batch tool capped at 50 items per call

Frequently asked questions

What does the MCP server offer?

evaluate, evaluate_batch, validate_questions and examples tools.

Does it handle rate limits?

Yes, retries with exponential backoff on 429 and 529, honouring Retry-After.

Is it AOT compatible?

Yes, it uses source-generated JSON for trimming and native AOT.
