DWIM
macOS command palette that asks Jev one yes/no per menu item and presses the best match for your plain-language request.
Overview
DWIM (do what I mean) works in any Mac app with a standard menu bar. Tap a key, type what you want in your own words, and it finds and runs the right menu item, for example mapping "cut out the background of this photo" to Format › Image › Remove Background. It reads the frontmost app's full menu tree through the accessibility API, so no per-app setup is needed.
It asks Jev one Noul per menu item, all in parallel, whether that item does what you asked. Jev answers in a few hundred milliseconds, fast enough to use while typing. If the top match clears a confidence threshold it runs; otherwise a short ranked list appears. Menu items whose names suggest data loss, such as delete, erase, revert or quit, never run automatically. You build the app yourself and supply your own Jev key; there is no server.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Yes / no | Does this menu item do what the user asked? | yes · no |
How it works
- Read the frontmost app's menu tree via accessibility
- Ask Jev one noul per menu item in parallel
- Run the top item if it clears the threshold
- Otherwise show a ranked list; destructive items always wait for confirmation
Strengths
- Works in any standard Mac app without setup
- Parallel per-item judgments are fast
- Destructive actions never auto-run
- No server; your own key
Caveats
- macOS 13+ only; requires Accessibility permission
- Requires an early-access Jev key
- Menu names are sent to TypeSafe

Use cases and integrations
How curated lists describe it
Desktop productivity: a macOS command palette that reads the frontmost app's menu tree through the accessibility API, asks Jev one `Noul` per menu item against the user's plain-language request, and presses the top match when it clears a probability threshold, falling back to a ranked list otherwise and never auto-running destructive items.
