JevPilot
Three.js driving simulator where Jev picks among locally sampled steering-and-speed paths while code handles geometry and safety.
Overview
JevPilot is a browser driving simulator demonstrating autopilot-like behaviour with Jev. On a route such as an interstate on-ramp, merge, cruise and exit, the simulator samples fresh steering-and-speed path candidates for each decision and sends Jev compact tables of eligible paths, road boundaries, nearby traffic, signals, stop memory and destination guidance. Jev chooses one path; detailed geometry, control calculations and a safety brake stay in local code.
The road graph is only sent when the car has been more than 30 metres off course for six seconds and an alternative route is needed. A stop option is offered only near a blocker, a required stop line or the destination, or when no moving path exists, and questions with a single eligible answer are resolved locally. Requests run up to four times a second near turns and traffic. Visual overlays show candidate paths and Jev's selection, and a JSON view shows the exact API payload and probabilities. The hosted version requires sign-in with free credit.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which candidate path (steering and speed) should the car take next? | — |
| Choice | Which alternative route should be taken after leaving the course? | — |
How it works
- Simulator samples candidate paths and filters eligible ones
- Compact state tables are sent to Jev with the candidates
- Jev returns probabilities over candidates; single-option cases resolve locally
- Car follows the chosen path; safety brake handles collision risk
- Route search triggers if off course too long
Strengths
- Clear split between model choice and local control and safety
- Payload and cost visible in the UI
- Rate adapts to driving situation
Caveats
- A simulation demo, not a driving system
- Hosted play needs a Standard Agents login
- Each decision is a paid API call

Frequently asked questions
What does Jev decide?
Which of the locally sampled steering-and-speed paths the car follows next.
Does Jev control braking?
A local safety brake handles collision risks; Jev chooses among paths.
Can I run it locally?
Yes, with your own TypeSafe key in .env.
