Chrome extension that badges X and LinkedIn posts READ, MAYBE or SKIP against your plain-English interest profile as you scroll.

Browser extensionbetaMIT

Overview

Jev Lens is a Chrome extension that judges every X and LinkedIn post as it scrolls into view, badging it READ, MAYBE or SKIP using Jev against an interest profile you write in plain English. READ posts get a green border and SKIP posts fade out; ads and promoted posts are skipped without a call. It uses your own API key and profile, with no keyword lists or cloud account of the author's.

The author argues keyword filters cannot tell a build log from a certificate announcement and asking an LLM per post is slow and costly, while Jev answers in about 300 ms at roughly 3 cents per 1,000 posts by the README's estimate. It installs unpacked in developer mode and stays idle until a key is configured. A companion blog post explains Jev and RLCD for testers.

How it works

  1. Write an interest profile and add a key
  2. As posts scroll into view, skip ads locally
  3. Ask Jev READ, MAYBE or SKIP for the rest
  4. Badge, highlight or fade the post

Strengths

  • Real-time feed filtering
  • Your key and profile stay with you
  • Low estimated cost

Caveats

  • Sends post text to TypeSafe
