PlotVeil
Chrome extension that covers YouTube comments while one Jev yes/no per comment checks for spoilers of the video or protected titles.
Overview
PlotVeil is a quiet spoiler blocker for YouTube comments. It covers each comment while it is checked and keeps it covered if the check says it would give the story away. Rather than a keyword blocklist, it asks a single typed Noul question per comment: whether, read against the current video title or any title the user protects, the comment reveals a concrete plot event, character fate, ending, twist or match result. Comment text is passed as state with an instruction to treat it as evidence, not instructions.
Calls go through a Cloudflare Worker that batches up to 20 comments per request to /v1/systemone with jev-latest, holding the API key as a secret and no product wording. The extension owns the threshold: easygoing 0.85, standard 0.7 or cautious 0.5. Network errors, quota rejections or malformed answers keep the comment covered, revealing is always the user's action, and a button re-covers revealed comments. Changing the question bumps a rule version to invalidate cached verdicts. A small synthetic evaluation in English, Chinese, Japanese and prompt-injection samples scored 10/10.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Yes / no | Does this comment reveal a concrete plot event, fate, ending, twist or result of the video or a protected title? | true · false |
How it works
- Cover each comment as it loads.
- Batch up to 20 comments per Jev request via the Worker.
- Compare each probability to the user's threshold.
- Reveal non-spoilers; keep spoilers and failed checks covered.
Strengths
- Semantic spoiler detection, not keywords.
- Fails safe by keeping comments covered.
- User-selectable strictness.
Caveats
- Evaluation is a small synthetic set.
- Relies on a hosted Worker proxy.
