Live Jev
Ableton Live controller where a one-sentence command in English or Japanese is turned into mixer, transport, clip and device actions.
Overview
Live Jev lets you control Ableton Live with one short sentence. Pressing a shortcut brings up a small bar over the session; you type or dictate a command such as 'turn it down 3 dB', 'Serum 2 on a new track' or 'quantize to 1/16', press Enter, and the bar disappears while the change is applied. It only reappears when it needs to ask you something. English and Japanese are supported with many phrasings.
It covers the mixer (volume, pan, mute, solo, arm, monitoring, sends, returns and master), transport, clips and scenes, notes (quantize, legato, transpose, velocity), devices from your own Live browser, tracks, and multi-track operations such as ranges or 'everything except Drums'. Chains of up to four commands are checked fully before running, and if a later part fails earlier parts are reverted. Undo works where a receipt of the change was kept. The name and listing indicate Jev interprets commands into these typed actions; the README excerpt focuses on capabilities rather than model details. It is distributed as source with a Remote Script.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which Live action does this sentence mean (e.g. set volume, add device, quantize)?(inferred) | — |
| Choice | Which track, device or parameter is the target?(inferred) | — |
How it works
- Press the shortcut and type or dictate a command
- The command is mapped to typed Live actions and targets
- Ambiguous or unsupported commands prompt a question
- Chains are validated, then applied via the Remote Script
- Receipts allow undo of value changes
Strengths
- Hands-off control without leaving Live
- Bilingual English and Japanese
- All-or-nothing chains with rollback
- Device candidates from your own library
Caveats
- Distributed as source only
- Some multi-target phrasings are refused by design
- Model details not in the README excerpt
