Jev plays Vampire Survivors via a BepInEx plugin and Python brain, choosing character, stage, level-ups and movement.

Overview

Jev plays Vampire Survivors connects TypeSafe's Jev to the real Steam game. A thin BepInEx C# plugin reads live game state and drives menus and movement; a Python brain turns that state into plain-English questions, asks Jev, and streams answers to a browser dashboard. Jev picks the character, the stage, every level-up and the walking direction four times a second. No game-specific strategy is hard-coded beyond asking the model.

The brain converts raw coordinates into words such as compass sectors, distance buckets and HP buckets, never raw numbers, and owns safe fallbacks when the model or network is unavailable; without a key a small heuristic decides. Character and stage picks are sampled from Jev's distribution so runs vary, while level-ups and directions take the top choice. The dashboard shows a card per question with probability bars, confidence, latency and a radar view of what the model saw. The plugin never stalls waiting for answers. It is verified only on native Linux Steam builds, is not affiliated with the developer or TypeSafe, and has CI.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers
ChoiceWhich direction should the character walk now?—
ChoiceWhich level-up option should be taken?—
ChoiceWhich character and stage should be picked?—

How it works

  1. Plugin streams game state to the local brain over TCP
  2. Brain converts state into words and asks Jev
  3. Answers drive menus, level-ups and movement
  4. Dashboard shows each decision; fallbacks keep the game running

Strengths

  • No hard-coded strategy; the model decides
  • Live dashboard with probabilities and latency
  • Never stalls the game waiting for answers
  • CI and MIT licence

Caveats

  • Native Linux Steam builds only
  • Requires the game and a TypeSafe key for model play
  • Not affiliated with the game's developer
