jev-torneo-animales
Winner-stays-on animal fighting tournament where each bout is a Jev Choice between two names under land, water or air rules.
Overview
Animal Tournament, refereed by Jev, is a small local game built to show how fast Jev makes typed decisions. Up to 2,569 land, flying and marine animals fight one on one; the winner stays on and faces the next challenger until one champion remains. Arena rules (land, water or air) go in the state and each fight is one Choice whose two options are the animal names.
In turbo mode one request asks the current champion against the next challengers speculatively and discards answers once the champion falls; the README reports 2,000 animals producing 1,999 fights in about 16 seconds over 64 API calls, roughly 7.6 ms per decision and about $0.01. A single hand-picked duel asks all three arenas in both option orders in one request and averages the orders. An optional chance mode rolls a die weighted by Jev's probability so upsets happen. It uses only the Python standard library, a localhost server keeps the key, and the UI and prompts are in Spanish.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which of these two animals wins in this arena? | — |
How it works
- Put arena rules in state
- Ask champion versus next K challengers in one request
- Apply results until the champion falls, discarding speculative answers
- Repeat until one champion remains
Strengths
- Shows fan-out economics: about 7.6 ms per decision in batch per the README
- Order-swapping in single fights reduces position bias
- No dependencies
Caveats
- Toy game for feel, not evaluation
- Spanish UI and prompts

How curated lists describe it
Gaming: winner-stays-on tournament of up to 2,569 animals where each fight is one Jev `Choice` between two names under land, water or air rules held in `state`, asking the champion against the next K challengers in a single request and discarding the speculative answers once the champion falls — 1,999 fights in about 16 s at roughly US$0.01.

Frequently asked questions
How fast is it?
The README reports 1,999 fights in about 16 seconds over 64 calls.
How are upsets handled?
An optional chance mode rolls a die weighted by Jev's probability.
Why is there a local server?
TypeSafe does not accept cross-origin browser calls and the key should not live in a web page.
