jev-creator-decoder

Cloudflare app that labels a YouTube creator's Shorts with Laya or Jev to find which hooks drive views and score new hooks.

Projectprototype

Overview

Reme Content Decoder takes a YouTube handle, pulls the creator's Shorts and has a decision model label every video live. It aims to show which hooks actually drive views, score new hooks before filming, and answer questions about the results. It was built for the Reme project.

It can run with Laya, the open-source System One engine served locally (zero token cost, GPU or CPU), or with Jev via an optional TypeSafe key. Hosting uses Cloudflare Workers and a local D1 database on the free tier, with a YouTube Data API key for fetching videos and uv running yt-dlp for transcripts used by the hook strategy check. A wire-compatibility check verifies that the local Laya server speaks the Jev API.

What the decision model decides

How it works

  1. Enter a creator handle and fetch Shorts via the YouTube API
  2. Pull transcripts with yt-dlp where available
  3. Label each video with Laya (local) or Jev
  4. Aggregate labels against view counts and score new hooks

Strengths

  • Zero token cost with local Laya
  • Same code works with hosted Jev
  • Runs on Cloudflare's free tier

Caveats

  • Needs Node 22+, Cloudflare account, YouTube API key and a local Laya server
  • GPU recommended for Laya; CPU fallback is slower
  • No licence or tests stated

Getting started

`npm install`, set YOUTUBE_API_KEY and LAYA_URL in .env, start Laya with `npm run serve:laya`, then run the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

What does the model decide?

Labels for each Short's hook and a score for new hook ideas.

Do I need a TypeSafe key?

No. It defaults to Laya running locally; a TypeSafe key is optional for Jev.

What does it cost to run?

The README says zero token cost with local Laya on Cloudflare's free tier.
