dicechess-bot-jev
Experimental Dice Chess bot planner where Jev chooses among all legal continuations by walking the legal-turn tree.
Overview
dicechess-bot-jev is an experimental bot for Dice Chess in which Jev chooses from every legal turn through OpenRouter. The rules engine builds the complete tree of legal turns for the position and dice roll. If all remaining continuations fit the option and request-size limits, Jev picks one complete continuation; otherwise it picks the next micro-move from the current node, the planner follows that branch and repeats, and a small enough subtree can be chosen in one call.
There is deliberately no heuristic pre-ranking or top-k shortlist; all legal choices remain available until Jev chooses, and a sole legal continuation needs no call. The assembled sequence is verified against the original legal set before submission, and the server remains authoritative. Status: the offline, provider-independent planner is implemented, but there is no runnable server, provider integration or deployment yet.

How it works
- Engine builds the legal-turn tree for the roll
- Ask Jev for a full continuation if it fits, else the next micro-move
- Walk the tree until the turn is complete
- Verify the sequence is legal and submit
Strengths
- No hidden heuristic strategy; every legal move stays available
- Handles large move trees via hierarchical choice
- Legality enforced by the engine
Caveats
- Only the offline planner exists; no server or provider integration
- Limits must be set by the caller

Frequently asked questions
Does the bot play yet?
Not live; only the offline planner is implemented.
How does Jev handle many moves?
It chooses hierarchically, one branch at a time, when the full option set is too large.
Who enforces legality?
The Dice Chess rules engine and the server.
