TypeSafe.Jev

.NET library that turns C# enums into Jev Choice questions and returns real enum values with probabilities and confidence.

Libraryproduction

Overview

TypeSafe.Jev is a .NET package for asking Jev typed questions and getting answers a switch statement can use. You declare an enum, optionally with descriptions per member, and the enum becomes the Choice options; the answer comes back as that enum, so the compiler can flag a missing branch when you add a member. Noul and Score questions are also supported, with confidence treated as a first-class number for auto-approval thresholds.

It targets net8.0, net9.0 and net10.0 and has a single dependency, enforced by CI. It is trim- and Native AOT-safe, with a native binary built and run on every build. Retries match the official SDKs (408, 429, 5xx, jitter, Retry-After, per-attempt timeouts and an overall budget) without Polly, and logging and OpenTelemetry are built in. Examples and tests run offline without a key. Version 1.0.0 is on NuGet.

How it works

  1. Declare an enum with descriptions.
  2. Call SystemOneAsync with state and questions.
  3. Read res.Choice(...).As<YourEnum>() and its confidence.
  4. Auto-approve above threshold; route the rest to a human.

Strengths

  • Answers as real enums with compile-time exhaustiveness.
  • Native AOT and trim safe.
  • Single dependency; built-in logging and OpenTelemetry.
  • Offline-testable.

Caveats

  • Requires C# 12+ and a TypeSafe key.
