secondlayer
Self-hosted Stacks blockchain data service whose Slack gate and fault-triage paths reportedly run on Jev decisions.
Overview
Secondlayer is a runtime for Stacks blockchain data: decoded chain data in your own database, backfilled from genesis, reorg-safe and kept current. It provides tables and a REST API out of the box, or streams rows into your own Postgres or SQLite schema, with subgraphs that index a contract into typed tables, webhooks on raw chain events, TypeScript SDKs, a CLI and an MCP server. It can be used hosted (with a free monthly row allowance) or self-hosted with Postgres plus one container.
The Jev connection comes from the directory listing, which says the service's Slack gate and fault-triage paths both run on Jev decisions; the fetched README does not describe them. The likely role is classifying operational faults and deciding which events or alerts reach Slack.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | How should this operational fault be triaged?(inferred) | — |
| Yes / no | Should this event pass the Slack gate?(inferred) | — |
How it works
- Index chain data and monitor the service
- On a fault or event, ask Jev a typed triage question
- Route to Slack or handle automatically based on the answer
Strengths
- Self-hostable data service with Jev-based triage
Caveats
- Jev usage described only in the list summary
- Jev is a minor part of a larger data platform
