jevcrypto
Creative npm package that makes UUID v4-shaped strings from Jev's probabilities on prompt variations; not cryptographically random.
Overview
jevcrypto is a creative experiment shaped like crypto.randomUUID(). You pass any question or sentence to randomUUID(), Jev evaluates variations of the prompt, and the package converts Jev's numeric decisions into a UUID-shaped string with a version 4 marker. According to the listing, it writes Jev's raw Noul probabilities on 15 code-point permutations of the prompt, plus one Choice for the variant digit, into the bytes of the UUID. The prompt does not need to ask for a UUID, and the output is explicitly not cryptographically random.
TypeSafe is the default provider and OpenRouter is supported. Each call sends the prompt and its variations to the provider and may incur charges. It supports ESM and CommonJS with TypeScript declarations, uses native fetch and AbortSignal.timeout without polyfills, and has been verified on Node.js 18.0.0 against a local test server; browser, Bun and Deno compatibility is not verified, and the key should stay on a server.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Yes / no | Yes/no judgments on code-point permutations of the user's prompt (used as UUID bytes) | — |
| Choice | Which variant digit should the UUID use? | — |
How it works
- User passes a prompt to randomUUID()
- Package creates prompt variations and asks Jev
- Probabilities are encoded into UUID bytes
- Return a UUID v4-shaped string
Strengths
- Playful demonstration of probability outputs
- ESM and CommonJS with types
Caveats
- Not cryptographically random; not for real IDs
- Each call costs API usage
Getting started
npm install jevcrypto, then `await new JevCrypto('YOUR_TYPESAFE_API_KEY').randomUUID('...')`.At a glance

How curated lists describe it
Creative experiment: a `crypto.randomUUID()` look-alike npm package that writes Jev's raw `Noul` probabilities on 15 code-point permutations of any prompt, plus one `Choice` for the variant digit, into the bytes of a UUID v4-shaped string; deliberately not cryptographically random.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use these as real UUIDs?
No, they are deliberately not cryptographically random.
How are the bytes produced?
From Jev's probabilities on variations of your prompt, per the listing.
Which providers work?
TypeSafe by default, or OpenRouter.
