JevBrowserExt
Manifest V3 Chrome port of jev-ultrafast that drives your current tab, with Jev choosing each operation and element.
Overview
Jev for Chrome is a Chrome extension that drives the tab you are looking at with Jev, picking the next click, keystroke or dropdown value in a few hundred milliseconds. It is a Manifest V3 port of browser-use's jev-ultrafast with the same observation format, questions and execution rules, and a small chat model fills in TYPE_TEXT. It is a community project not affiliated with TypeSafe or Browser Use, and is available on the Chrome Web Store.
Running in your normal Chrome profile means it uses your existing cookies and logins with no Python, Playwright or second browser, and the README notes that sites which block datacenter headless browsers with human verification open normally. Numbered badges show which elements the model can see, a status bar shows each decision and its latency, a Step button executes one decision at a time, and a trace can be copied for bug reports. Beyond the reference, it follows links that open new tabs, clicks wrapped links where they render, hides controls covered by other blocks and uses two independent probability checks to veto a premature DONE. The demo shows ten decisions in about thirteen seconds.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which operation should be performed next?(inferred) | CLICK · TYPE_TEXT · SELECT · SCROLL_UP · SCROLL_DOWN · WAIT · DONE · BLOCKED |
| Choice | Which visible element is the target? | — |
| Yes / no | Is the task really done? (veto checks)(inferred) | — |
How it works
- User types a goal in the popup
- Extension observes the tab and numbers visible elements
- Jev picks operation and target; small LLM writes text if typing
- Execute; probability checks veto premature DONE
Strengths
- Uses your real browser session
- Step-through and trace export
- Available on the Chrome Web Store
Caveats
- Acts with your logged-in sessions
- Needs a TypeSafe key and a chat-model key
