jev-chat jarvis

iOS custom keyboard that shows a copied message's intent, risk level and candidate replies inside any chat app, filling but never sending.

Overview

jev-chat-jarvis for iOS is a Chinese-documented custom keyboard that works inside any chat app. You long-press and copy the other person's message, switch to the Jev keyboard and tap analyse clipboard; the keyboard shows the message's intent, a risk level from 0 to 9, a suggested action, and two candidate replies per selected style, one cautious and one bolder. Tapping a candidate inserts it into the current input box, and sending is always manual. A second button analyses text you have half-typed.

TypeSafe Jev is the judgment layer, returning probabilities over 8 intent types and the 0-9 risk scale in one call and ranking candidates, with presets for TypeSafe direct, OpenRouter and Vercel AI Gateway; without a Jev key it falls back to drafting only. A separate OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible model writes candidates in 12 built-in styles or custom ones. Chat content is sent only when you tap analyse, keys stay in the app group container, and the keyboard does not log keystrokes. It is distributed as source requiring Xcode and an Apple ID, and is MIT licensed.

How it works

  1. Copy the other person's message
  2. Switch to the Jev keyboard and tap analyse
  3. Jev returns intent and risk; a model drafts replies
  4. Jev ranks candidates; tap one to insert
  5. Send manually

Strengths

  • Works in any app via the keyboard
  • Never sends automatically
  • Keys stored locally; no relay server

Caveats

  • Requires building with Xcode; free signing expires every 7 days
  • Needs full keyboard access for network and clipboard

Getting started

Open JevJarvis.xcodeproj in Xcode, sign both targets with your team, run on your iPhone, then enable the Jev keyboard with full access.
