jev-browser-use

Codex browser skill where Jev handles navigation, clicks, toggles and scrolling while Codex handles text input and verification.

Agent skillbetaMIT

Overview

Jev Browser Use is a browser skill for Codex that splits the work: Jev handles navigation, clicks, toggles and scrolling, and Codex stays in charge of text input, visual judgment and the final check. It uses the existing browser connection from Codex's Computer Use (Chrome or the in-app browser), with no extra driver or npm dependencies. It was built at EZCollegeApp, where the authors report about 5-10 times faster browser operations in their workflows.

It installs with one npx skills add command or as a native Codex plugin, and is configured with a provider of TypeSafe or OpenRouter, whose keys are not interchangeable, stored in a dotenv file referenced from a config file. The yibie list notes four CI-run contract tests on the bridge. It requires Node 22+ and is an independent MIT-licensed integration, not an official OpenAI or TypeSafe product.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers
ChoiceWhich navigation, click, toggle or scroll action comes next?(inferred)—

How it works

  1. Codex receives a browser task
  2. Codex hands navigation and clicks to Jev through the skill
  3. Codex types text and judges visually where needed
  4. Codex verifies the final result

Strengths

  • Reported 5-10x faster browser operations in real workflows
  • No extra driver; reuses Codex's browser connection
  • Contract tests in CI

Caveats

  • Requires Codex Computer Use connected to a browser
  • Speed-up measured on the authors' own workflows

Getting started

`npx skills add wy-coliney/jev-browser-use -g -a codex -y`, then configure the provider and key.
