jev-apply
Job-application skill with memory that fills forms from your résumé, using Jev to decide what your record supports and leaving gaps open.
Overview
jev-apply is a job-application skill for CLI coding agents such as Codex and Claude Code. Given a résumé and a job posting URL, it fills in what the user's record supports, drafts grounded prose when allowed, and leaves anything else open rather than guessing. Personal facts, demographic choices and policy attestations always come from the user, and the agent asks only for missing facts, choices or attestations.
Setup is done by the agent itself following SKILL.md and INSTALL.md, with the user entering a TypeSafe Jev key privately rather than in chat. It needs Node 20+ and Chrome, optionally OpenAI or the CLI model for drafting. Support for hosted Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever forms is experimental, and LinkedIn Easy Apply is not supported. Private memory stays on disk, though model APIs receive request data. The README recommends a --no-submit flag on every run, shows a 16-second real run, links measured results, and is MIT licensed.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Which value from the applicant's record answers this form field (or none)?(inferred) | — |
| Yes / no | Does the applicant's record support filling this field?(inferred) | yes · no |
How it works
- Agent installs the skill and learns the résumé
- User gives a posting URL; run with --no-submit
- Jev matches fields to supported record values
- Grounded drafts written where allowed; unsupported fields left open
- User reviews and supplies missing facts or attestations
Strengths
- Leaves fields open instead of inventing answers
- Private memory stored locally
- Agent-driven setup
Caveats
- Experimental support for Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever only
- Form data and résumé content go to model APIs
- Risk of accidental submission if --no-submit is omitted

Frequently asked questions
What does Jev decide in jev-apply?
Which fields the applicant's record supports and with what value, leaving the rest open.
Will it submit applications automatically?
It can, but the README recommends --no-submit on every run so you review first.
Which job boards work?
Hosted Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever forms experimentally; not LinkedIn Easy Apply.
