hunch (rajkharvar)
Browser-only playground for building Jev Choice, Score and Noul queries and inspecting probabilities via OpenRouter.
Overview
This Hunch is a static web app for experimenting with Jev through OpenRouter's alpha decisions endpoint. You write a state (free text or JSON), add typed questions visually, run them with your own OpenRouter key, and read the result as probability bars, confidence bands, latency and cost per call. It can also export the request as curl, TypeScript or Python snippets.
There is no backend: the browser calls https://openrouter.ai/api/alpha/decisions directly, which allows any origin, so the build deploys as plain static files to Pages, Netlify or Vercel. It is aimed at developers learning the primitives before writing integration code. The key is held in memory by default, optionally in localStorage, sent only to OpenRouter, and never logged. Because the endpoint is alpha, request and response shapes are pinned in a Zod schema so a change surfaces in one place. It has a Vitest suite and Oxlint.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | User-defined Choice question with 2+ labelled options | — |
| Score | User-defined Score on up to 10 ordered levels | — |
| Yes / no | User-defined yes/no proposition | yes · no |
How it works
- Paste an OpenRouter key into the app
- Write a state and build typed questions
- Send the request directly from the browser
- Inspect probabilities, confidence band, latency and cost
- Copy the request as code for your project
Strengths
- No server to run or trust; static deploy
- Key never leaves the browser except to OpenRouter
- Shows latency and cost per call for quick comparison
Caveats
- Depends on an alpha OpenRouter endpoint whose shape may change
- Remembering the key in localStorage is unsafe on shared machines
Getting started
`pnpm install && pnpm dev`, open http://localhost:5173 and paste an OpenRouter key with a low spend limit. At a glance

Frequently asked questions
What is this Hunch for?
Trying out Jev questions interactively and seeing the probabilities before writing integration code.
Does it need a TypeSafe key?
No, it uses an OpenRouter key and calls OpenRouter's decisions endpoint.
Is there a server?
No. Everything runs in the browser and the build is a static site.
