system-one

.NET 10 client and examples for Ollama's System One decision API, covering ticket classification and tic-tac-toe.

Libraryprototype

Overview

This repository shows how to use Ollama's System One decision API from .NET 10. Ollama's System One takes a state and questions with explicit criteria and returns structured results (a choice, a yes/no probability or a score), the same shape as Jev's interface but served locally. It includes a shared HTTP client and models library and two runnable examples using the nimble and tev1:4b models.

The support ticket example evaluates the responsible team (choice), whether a refund was explicitly requested (noul) and urgency (score), printing probabilities and confidence. The tic-tac-toe example has you play X while System One chooses an empty square as O from the legal moves, which the application validates locally. The model and server URL can be overridden with environment variables. Outputs are illustrative and vary by model.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers

ScoreHow urgent is this ticket (0-2)?—
ChoiceWhich empty square should O take?—

How it works

  1. Run Ollama locally and pull a decision model
  2. Build state and questions in .NET
  3. Call the System One endpoint
  4. Use the structured result in the app

Strengths

  • Fully local with Ollama
  • Simple .NET client

Caveats

  • Uses Ollama's System One, not TypeSafe's Jev
  • Small example repository

Getting started

ollama pull nimble, dotnet build SystemOne.sln, then dotnet run --project examples/SupportTicket/SupportTicket.csproj.

Frequently asked questions

Does this use Jev?

No; it uses Ollama's System One API with local models like nimble and tev1.

What do the examples show?

Ticket classification with choice, noul and score, and a tic-tac-toe opponent.

What do I need?

.NET 10 SDK and Ollama 0.35 or later.
