solar-mini4-jev

Bring-your-own-key wrapper that exposes Upstage Solar Pro4 or Mini4 behind Jev's /v1/systemone shape, with a comparison benchmark.

Libraryprototype

Overview

solar-mini4-jev is a drop-in wrapper that exposes Upstage's Solar models through the TypeSafe Jev System One API shape. Solar Pro4 is the default and Solar Mini4 optional; Jev-style noul, choice and score questions are turned into a lettered-option prompt for the Solar chat model. A hosted endpoint on Vercel is bring-your-own-key: you pass your Upstage key in a header and the server does not store it. It can also run locally with uvicorn.

The README reports a benchmark on a subset of public Jev benchmarks (886 items): item-weighted totals of 75.6 for Jev 1.13.0, 73.0 for solar-decide, 71.4 for solar-mini4 and 76.9 for solar-pro4, with p50 latency measured from Korea of 633 ms for Jev, 324 ms for solar-decide, 424 ms for mini4 and 749 ms for pro4. A list summary notes it grades against a third-party judge and that figures recompute from committed artifacts. The licence section says it is experimental research code.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers
Yes / noShould on-call be paged immediately?—
ChoiceJev-style choice questions mapped to lettered options—

How it works

  1. Send a /v1/systemone request with your Upstage key
  2. Wrapper converts questions into a lettered-option Solar prompt
  3. Parse Solar's answer into Jev-shaped typed answers
  4. Optionally benchmark against real Jev

Strengths

  • Jev-compatible API over Upstage models
  • Hosted BYOK endpoint, key not stored
  • Comparative benchmark with latency

Caveats

  • Experimental research code with no formal licence
  • Generative model under the hood, not a native decision model

Getting started

export UPSTAGE_API_KEY=..., pip install -r requirements.txt, uvicorn server:app --port 8080; or call https://solar-mini4-jev.vercel.app/v1/systemone.

How curated lists describe it

  • A drop-in wrapper that exposes Upstage \*\*Solar Mini4\*\* through the TypeSafe Jev System One API shape.

    logicrw/awesome-jev-projects
  • Puts Upstage's Solar Mini4 behind Jev's `/v1/systemone` shape, bring your own Upstage key. Its benchmark grades against a third-party judge rather than a peer model's answers, and every published figure recomputes from the artifacts committed with it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a decision model?

No; it wraps Upstage's Solar chat models behind Jev's API shape.

How does it compare to Jev?

On its 886-item subset, solar-pro4 scored 76.9 versus Jev's 75.6, per the README.

Is my key stored?

No; the hosted endpoint is BYOK and does not store keys.
