skill-router-mod

Claude Code mod that asks Jev one Noul per skill on every prompt and suggests the skills over a threshold to the model.

Agent skillbeta

Overview

skill-router-mod is a Claude Code mod that suggests the right skills for each prompt. On every prompt it asks Jev, in one request, one Noul per candidate skill: is the user asking for this kind of task to be done now? Skills at or above a threshold (default 0.8) are ranked, shown above the prompt with their probabilities and latency, and passed to the model as a hidden suggestion; the model still decides whether to load them. A prompt that only asks about or weighs a task does not trigger a skill, and having no suggestion is a normal outcome.

Candidates are skills the model can invoke itself, minus those already loaded in the main conversation, with duplicates removed. It only suggests because a mod cannot tell teaching skills from ones that act, and every loaded skill costs context. It fails open on timeouts, outages or missing keys, skips slash commands and short prompts, and is configurable for threshold, maximum suggestions and timeout. Each routed prompt sends the first 4,000 characters plus each skill's name and one-line description; with about 90 skills that is roughly 7,000 input tokens and 200-450 ms. It requires the companion jev mod.

What the decision model decides

TypeQuestionAnswers
Yes / noIs the user asking for this kind of task to be done now? (per skill)—

How it works

  1. User types a prompt
  2. Mod asks Jev one Noul per candidate skill in a single request
  3. Rank skills at or above the threshold, up to the maximum
  4. Show them and pass a hidden suggestion; the model decides

Strengths

  • Per-skill probabilities, so 'none' is natural
  • Fails open without blocking the prompt
  • Only names and descriptions are sent, not skill contents

Caveats

  • About 7,000 input tokens per prompt with 90 skills
  • Requires the jev mod and a TypeSafe key

Getting started
