pi-jfiles
Pi codemode tool that classifies whole project files with caller-defined Jev questions, returning paths and typed answers, not source.
Overview
pi-jfiles lets you ask task-specific questions about whole project files through Pi codemode. A classify_files tool returns paths, typed answers and coverage, but not source text, so you read selected files separately to inspect evidence. The model is fixed to typesafe/jev-latest through Pi's typesafe-system-one API with no fallback.
A preview mode accepts a glob selection and reports file metadata without reading content, calling TypeSafe or needing credentials. Classification requires starting Pi with an explicit --jev-files-allow-remote consent flag (an API key alone is not upload permission, and /reload cannot grant it); each request then sends the relative path, whole file content and all questions to TypeSafe. The README warns that embedded secrets in ordinary files can be sent and that filename exclusions are not secret detection. It requires Pi 1.0.1+, Node 24.8+ and ripgrep.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Caller-defined question about each whole file (e.g. does it handle billing?) | — |
| Yes / no | Does this file meet the caller's condition? | yes · no |

- Preview mode needs no key.
- Returns typed answers and coverage, not source.
Caveats
- Sends whole files to TypeSafe when classifying.
- Secrets in files may be sent.
