jev-olympics

Playful web arena where Jev does arithmetic, writes chat replies and draws pixel art one Choice or Noul decision at a time.

Overview

jev-olympics is a small playground, built for amusement, that makes Jev choose its way through tasks it was not designed for. The Calculator event picks digits right to left with Choice, or searches for an integer with Noul equality and size judgments, while a real calculation runs alongside. Chat builds an English reply one character or word at a time, with a 255-option word mode and a 'College Chat' variant that searches a 60,008-word hierarchical vocabulary. Canvas draws on a small black-and-white grid by scanning pixels, choosing coordinates or moving a pen.

Every decision can be inspected, including probabilities, confidence, timing, token usage and the exact JSON input, and predictions are never repaired after checking the answer. Notes can add instructions to each decision. The interface is available in six languages. It is a creative probe of how far typed decisions stretch rather than a practical tool.

How it works

  1. Pick an event: Calculator, Chat, College Chat or Canvas
  2. The app turns the task into a sequence of Choice or Noul calls
  3. Each decision is shown with probabilities and inputs
  4. Results are compared with a reference without correction

Strengths

  • Transparent view of every decision and input
  • Illustrates techniques such as hierarchical vocabulary search
  • Runs in the browser

Caveats

  • For amusement; not a practical tool
  • Long tasks need many sequential calls
  • Requires a Jev key or hosted access

Frequently asked questions

Can Jev really do arithmetic or chat?

Only by making many small choices; the app shows how well or badly that works.

Are wrong answers fixed?

No. Predictions are kept as Jev made them and the first wrong judgment is highlighted.

Where can I try it?

At jev-olympics.vercel.app.
