HA-Jev
Home Assistant integration that turns Jev answers about your house into sensors, automation actions, an AI Task entity and an Assist agent.
Overview
HA-Jev lets you ask TypeSafe's Jev questions about your house and get numbers back as entities you can automate on. Questions become sensors: a probability, one of your options with its distribution, or a number on a scale, added through the UI or YAML. Four actions (jev.noul, jev.choice, jev.score and jev.ask) answer inside automations and return response variables, and an AI Task entity answers generate-data calls by mapping boolean, select or number fields to questions.
It also provides a conversation agent for Assist, a house check that opens Repairs cards for entities unavailable for a week, low batteries and states that look like mistakes (such as a light left on, which can be turned off from the card and restored), cost reporting against a daily token budget, and 25 importable blueprints, for example detecting laundry left unattended. It is unofficial, uses the jevclient library, has tests and hassfest CI, and documentation lives on a separate site.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Yes / no | Has the finished laundry been left unattended?(inferred) | yes · no |
| Choice | Which of your options best describes the current house state? | — |
| Score | Where does this state fall on your scale? | — |
How it works
- Define questions in the UI or YAML
- Integration builds state from your entities
- Jev answers; results become sensors or action responses
- Automations act on the values; house check raises Repairs cards
Strengths
- Deep Home Assistant integration (sensors, actions, AI Task, Assist)
- Daily token budget and cost reporting
- Many ready-made blueprints
Caveats
- Unofficial
- Entity states are sent to TypeSafe
Getting started
Install via HACS, add the Jev integration with your TypeSafe key, then add questions in the UI; see jev.cdevries.dev.At a glance
