AskJev
Claude Desktop MCP extension that drives Brave or Chrome with Jev choosing on-page actions and a guard freezing irreversible clicks.
Overview
AskJev lets you ask Claude in plain English to do things on websites. Claude is only the MCP client; AskJev drives Brave or Chrome over CDP and TypeSafe Jev makes the on-page decisions: the next action, the target, an irreversible-action score and whether the goal is done. A Guard freezes irreversible clicks such as payment or deletion for confirmation.
Setup is a double-click .mcpb bundle for Claude Desktop where you paste your TypeSafe key, which Claude stores encrypted. Without a key, multi-step goals fail loudly with missing_api_key rather than wandering, while single actions still work. An optional browser extension applies the same Guard to pages you click yourself. The key is only sent to api.typesafe.ai.
What the decision model decides
| Type | Question | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Choice | What is the next action and target on this page? | — |
| Score | How irreversible is this click? | — |
| Yes / no | Is the goal done? | yes · no |
How it works
- User asks Claude for a browser goal
- AskJev opens the browser and observes the page
- Jev picks the next action and target, and scores irreversibility
- Guard pauses irreversible clicks for confirmation
- Loop until Jev says the goal is done
Strengths
- No terminal setup
- Irreversible actions are gated
- Fails loudly without a key
Caveats
- Needs a TypeSafe key for multi-step goals
- Claude Desktop focused
